Financial assistance is available

There are a number of supports available to assist customers who struggle paying their bills. If you need financial support to help you manage your bills, you can contact one or more of these agencies listed below. ​​

Financial support resources to contact:

  • 211 Alberta: Visit their website at https://ab.211.ca/ or call 2-1-1​
  • Human Services: 1-866-644-5135 or 780-644-5135 in Edmonton
  • Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH): Call the nearest office
  • Utilities Consumer Advocate (UCA): 310-4822
  • Alberta Government Special Needs for Seniors over 65: 1-877-644-9992 or 780-644-9992 in Edmonton
  • Alberta Seniors and Housing - Supplementary Accommodation Benefit​: 310-0000 Toll-Free, 780-422-0122 iEdmonton, or 403-297-7453 ​in Calgary 
  • Temporary Rent Assistance Benefit: Learn more or check if you qualify online at alberta.ca/RentAssistance​ 

You can also try:

  • Hospitals have social workers that may be able to assist long term patients with funding, or finding funding.
  • ​Unions have benevolent funds that can be made available to union members and their families.
  • First Nations - contact social services to inquire about assistance 

NOTE: We will require Consent to Release documents filled out before we can discuss your account with a social worker or representative from these organizations.
