Emergencies

What to do in an emergency

A car could hit a power line or transformer. A person could strike a line while digging in their yard. A worker operating heavy machinery could come in contact with overhead lines. Each of these scenarios are electricity emergencies. If you find yourself in one of these situations, what you do next could mean the difference between life and death.

Your water service line could freeze in the winter. The sewer could back up in your basement. A water main could break. Each of these is a water emergency and you should contact EPCOR.

Report an emergency. Call us 24/7 at 780-412-4500.

If you encounter a downed power line or other dangerous situation involving electricity, call 911 or our Power Emergencies line immediately and tell them the exact location. Police and Fire will help keep people away from the scene, while we dispatch a crew to turn off the power and ensure the area is safe.
