Sometimes, people may pretend to be from EPCOR to get you to send money or share personal information. They might call, text, email, or even come to your door.

Watch out for these suspicious activities

There are some things we just don't do. If you encounter any of these activities, contact us right away. It's probably a scam.

We won’t ask for your bank info or personal details in a text or email.

We won’t ask you to pay your bill with gift cards, Bitcoin, or cash at a physical location.

We won’t threaten you or demand immediate payment on the spot.

We don’t do door-to-door sales.

Other red flags

The message feels urgent or scary.
They ask for money or personal info right away.
The email is not from @epcor.com.

If you're unsure, don't click any links or share your personal information.

Call us right away or check your account online.

When you might hear from us

We may contact you to:

Talk about your bill or account
Let you know about a power or water outage
Collect feedback
Inform you about special offers
Share updates about work in your area

How you'll hear from us

Phone: We may call about your account, service updates, or overdue bills.
Text: You may get a text from us about billing or service interruptions, like power outages.
Email: We email from an @epcor.com address about your bill, services, or account info—if it’s not from us, don’t trust it.
Home visit: We may visit your home for meter checks, outages, safety issues, surveys or other service work.

If someone claiming to be from EPCOR contacts you and you're not sure if it's legitimate, check in with us:

Log in to your EPCOR account to check your bill.
Call us at 310-4300 to ask if we contacted you.

Use other services

Register a complaint online with Service Alberta, or 1-877-427-4088.
