EPCOR would like to know: through art, demonstrate what community means to you.

One winner will be selected in four different grade categories and will have their artwork displayed at 9735-80 Ave. Winners will each receive a prize valued at approximately $275.

The deadline to submit artwork is BEFORE 11:59PM on May 25, 2023.

EPCOR Community Art Contest: Eligibility and Rules:

  1. ​​By participating in this contest, each participant unconditionally accepts and agrees to these rules.
  2. Eligible participants are current students at Mill Creek School (9735 80 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 1S8).
  3. All participants must fill out and sign the registration/release form​.
  4. Artwork submitted will become the property of EPCOR and can be used for other purposes as determined by EPCOR.
  5. Participant’s information collected will be used to contact the contest winners and the artist’s first name and last initial will be published.
  6. Artwork must conform to the theme. Artwork deemed to be outside the theme will not be considered.
  7. All artworks must be submitted on time, before the deadline detailed in the contest details.
  8. Each participant can only submit one piece of original artwork for the contest. Artwork must be completed individually. A photo of the original artwork will be accepted; however, winners will be asked to provide original artwork.​
  9. Paper size must be 8.5x11” Vertical or Horizontal, or 12x12” square and cannot be folded.
  10. Submissions can be mailed to:

    A photo of the original artwork will also be accepted at epcordrainage@epcor.com​. Winners will be asked to provide original artwork.
  11. Participants must not copy the work of others. Plagiarism is not allowed in any form.
  12. The artwork submitted by mail will not be returned.
  13. Participants can also submit an explanation of their work (maximum 25 – 30 words).

Prizes:

Four (4) winners will be chosen to have their artwork displayed at the active construction site at 97 Street and 80 Avenue. In addition, the winners will each receive a prize worth approximately $275 (such as a Nintendo Switch, a Lego set, etc.). The judges will select one winner from each of the following four (4) categories:​

  • ​Kindergarten
  • Grade 1/Grade 2
  • Grade 3/Grade 4
  • Grade 5/Grade 6
In addition, the winning classroom will receive a $250 gift card to Staples.

Other:

Additional art construction hoarding panels will be EPCOR branded and will include an explanation of each art piece and a list of the winners.

Judging:

The winners will be selected at the sole discretion of a Judging Committee, which will be comprised of representatives from Mill Creek School, EPCOR and its project contractor. Artwork will be judged by how well the piece demonstrates the following theme:

Timeline:​

The deadline for participants to submit their artwork is 11:59pm on May 25, 202​​3. Winners will be selected and notified within 21 days from the submission deadline. Once the winners have been notified, the artwork will be showcased on the construction hoarding. ​
