Now is the time to get involved! We want to hear from you so that we can design flood barriers that protect the Rossdale and E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plants and integrate into your community as much as possible, while being mindful of costs.
We believe in listening to and engaging stakeholders. Community input and involvement is an important part of our decision-making and we want to hear what you think about our initiatives.

Community members are invited to provide feedback on:
Phase 2 of public engagement is being done at the REFINE level. EPCOR will seek to consider and reflect public feedback while we make decisions regarding the development of the flood barriers at the water treatment plants. EPCOR will provide feedback on how public input influenced the decision through What We Heard reports.
Indigenous engagement will be ongoing throughout the course of this project.
We want to know what you think about our proposed shared outcomes, design principles and community engagement framework. There are a couple ways to get involved:
Complete our survey (open until June 3, 2022).
Take survey now
Attend one of our workshops to find out further information about the flood protection project and provide EPCOR feedback regarding the permanent flood barriers at Rossdale and E.L. Smith. These workshops are site-specific, so please attend the workshop of the treatment plant closest to your neighborhood.
These sessions are now complete. Thanks to everyone who attended. Watch for more information on what we heard soon.
Check out the locations where the flood barriers will be built, and take location-specific surveys along the way! You can complete the tour anytime until June 3, 2022. There are maps at each tour stop along the way to guide you. Start at location 2 or 5 at Rossdale Water Treatment Plant, or any location at E.L. Smith, and walk, roll or ride your bike to each location.
Please park in public parking for the self-guided tours; there is no parking available inside the water plants.
Your questions, feedback and input are important to us. We want to hear from you so that we can design flood barriers to protect our Water Treatment Plants that integrate into your community as much as possible while being mindful of costs.
