Since December 2021, we have heard from community members on options for protecting the Rossdale and E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plants and integrate flood barriers into your communities as much as possible, while being mindful of costs.
We believe in listening to and engaging stakeholders. Community input and involvement is an important part of our decision-making and we want to hear what you think about our initiatives.

Phase 2 of public engagement was done at the REFINE level. EPCOR sought to consider and reflect public feedback while we make decisions regarding the development of the flood barriers at the water treatment plants. EPCOR will provide feedback on how public input influenced the decision through What We Heard reports.
Indigenous engagement will be ongoing throughout the course of this project.
A survey to get your input about the flood mitigation project was available from December 2021 to June 3, 2022. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Site-specific workshops were held for community members to find out further information about the flood protection project and provide EPCOR feedback regarding the permanent flood barriers at Rossdale and E.L. Smith.
These sessions are now complete. Thanks to everyone who attended. Watch for more information on what we heard soon.

From December 2021 to June 3, 2022, a self-guided walking tour at each plant showed the locations where the flood barriers will be built, and provided location-specific surveys along the way.
Your questions, feedback and input are important to us. We want to hear from you so that we can design flood barriers to protect our Water Treatment Plants that integrate into your community as much as possible while being mindful of costs.
