FAQs

What do I need to sign up?

Signing up for a simple energy plan with Encor has never been easier. Here's what you'll need to sign up with the help of one of our experts:

  • Your contact details, including your email address
  • Registered legal business name
  • Your service address
  • Your site identification number
  • Your billing address
  • A recent copy of your monthly electricity/gas invoice
Do I need to provide a deposit?
As with most of the suppliers who provide goods and services to your business, we will perform a standard credit check prior to an agreement being signed.  Our typical customer will not require a deposit, however, there may be circumstances where one would be necessary.
Can I pay my energy bill online?
Yes! Register for free with epost by Canada Post and you'll be able to receive, store and pay your bills all in one place online. Other payment options include:  automatic withdrawal, mail-in payment, or direct pay through your bank.
Am I able to cancel anytime?
Cancelling a fixed rate agreement (electricity and/or natural gas) is not recommended as there may be termination fees associated with cancellation.  For that reason, we recommend selecting a contract term that aligns with the long-term planning of your business.  Floating rate products offer more flexibility, when it comes to cancellation, as you can cancel at any time (or switch over to one of our fixed rate products) without penalty.
How long are the quoted fixed rates good for?
We will hold your quoted rate for at least 10 days (for both electricity and natural gas) to give you time to review your options.
What happens to my quoted rates after 10 days?
Quoted rates will be updated to reflect any commodity market changes and a new quote will be provided.  As with your initial quote, the updated pricing will be held for an additional 10 days (minimum).

About fair competition

All customers are free to purchase natural gas services from the default supply provider or from a retailer of their choice and to purchase electricity services from the regulated rate provider or from a retailer of their choice. The delivery of natural gas and electricity to you is not affected by your choice. If you change who you purchase natural gas services or electricity services from, you will continue receiving natural gas and electricity from the distribution company in your service area. For a current list of retailers you may choose from, visit ucahelps.alberta.ca or call 310-4822 (toll free in Alberta). Some offers, in whole or in part, may not be available in gas co-ops, municipally owned utilities, and some Rural Electrification Associations.
