At least 3 business days before you move in, give our team of energy experts a call at
310-4300 and we'll help you transfer your power and natural gas services in minutes.
To make the process as quick and painless as possible, be prepared to answer a few questions about your move:
- What's the address of your new home? Will this be your new mailing address?
- When would you like your power and natural gas services to be transferred? By giving us at least 3 business days' notice, you'll avoid having to pay an expedited fee.
- Are power and natural gas services currently turned on at your new home? If not, an additional fee may apply to turn them on.

We know you have questions too! Here is some information to help answer a few of our customer's most frequent inquiries about transferring services.
Keep services on in more than one location
You can have both your current and new home on the same energy plan for up to 90 days. We may require a deposit to do so, which will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Moving outside an Encor service area
Unfortunately, we aren't able to provide power and natural gas services if your new home isn't within our serviceable area (ex. Medicine Hat). We service just about all of Alberta but if you move outside of the province, you'll need to search for a new retailer for your power and natural gas needs.
Putting your account on hold
If you aren't sure what your new address will be, you can put your energy plan on hold for up to 90 days while you confirm your new address.
