Your business

Help the environment and your bottom line with these energy saving tips.

Turn it off

If you turn off machinery, computers, printers, appliances and photocopiers when your business is closed, or use a low-energy mode during periods of non-use, you can reduce the amount of energy your business equipment consumes.

See the difference

Compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and LED bulbs use significantly less electricity than incandescent bulbs to provide the same light and they can last up to 10,000 hours. Changing all your light bulbs and using sensors can significantly reduce your energy consumption.

Keep it balanced

Turning the heat and air conditioning off when your business is closed, or certain spaces aren't being used can save a lot of energy. Programmable thermostats let you set the temperature to adjust at certain points in the day and minimize your consumption.

Shop smart

When you shop for equipment for your business, look for the EnerGuide for industry rating. It provides a product's estimated energy consumption/efficiency and compares it to other similar products.
