Explore EPCOR’s sustainability reporting, showcasing progress and performance across environmental, social, and governance priorities.
At EPCOR, we are continuing to advance how sustainability is integrated into our operations and the ways we engage with communities and other stakeholders. Grounded in purpose, our efforts focus on maintaining reliable service while improving how we operate. Our 2025 Sustainability Performance Update, the last report in our 2023-2025 cycle, reflects the meaningful progress we have made on our journey.
Pursuing a sustainable future takes vision, commitment and care. At EPCOR, sustainability is fundamental to who we are and how we create long-term value for the people and communities that rely on our services.
Emissions reduction
In 2025, we reduced net Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% from our 2020 baseline, meeting our target and marking a significant milestone in our sustainability journey.
TRIF results
Safety is at the centre of how we operate, and our commitment is foundational — to our employees, their families and the communities we serve. That commitment is reflected in our lowest-ever Total Recordable Injury Frequency (TRIF) performance.
Economic value
Through operations, capital investments and the essential services we provide, we created economic value for a wide range of stakeholders across North America in 2025.
Water quality and long-term supply are critical for the wellbeing of the environment, communities and the economy. Learn how we’re focused on ensuring that water systems across Canada and the United States remain safe, reliable and sustainable into the future.
The ability to translate our commitment into action is reflected our 2025 results. The 2025 Sustainability Performance Update marks the end of our three-year reporting cycle, but it is not an endpoint. We will continue to ensure our choices and actions lay the groundwork for a more sustainable future.
Reasonable costs
We know that affordability remains a top priority for our customers, so we continue to identify practical ways to manage costs while maintaining safety and reliability. Through disciplined investment and operational efficiencies, we focus on creating value today and for the future.
Wastewater reuse
We remain committed to delivering innovative, sustainable water solutions in drought-challenged regions. In 2025, EPCOR became the first utility in Arizona to receive an Alternative Designation of Assured Water Supply. This designation confirms EPCOR’s ability to supply water for 100 years, supporting responsible growth in one of North America’s most water constrained regions.
Flood protection
We made significant progress on flood mitigation upgrades at our Edmonton Water Treatment Plants. By the end of 2025, 57% of the work was complete, with full flood resilience upgrades targeted for December 2027.
In 2025, we renewed our commitment to Indigenous Relations, building on years of engagement and collaboration with Indigenous partners. Learn how our approach — grounded in listening, learning and integrating Indigenous perspectives into our planning and operations — is strengthening connections and advancing reconciliation.
