Chris Kopecky

Chris Kopecky leads EPCOR’s business development across North America, oversees commercial operations, and manages the company’s energy portfolio for regulated customers and its competitive retail energy business, Encor by EPCOR.

Chris re-joined EPCOR in 2024, as Vice President, Corporate Development for North American Commercial Services (NACS), following 14 years at Capital Power in legal and business roles, with accountability for the company’s business development, asset management, commodity trading and legal functions. Earlier in his career, he worked at EPCOR following several years practising law at major U.S. firms specializing in mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure development and project finance.

Chris holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, obtained his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and received a Bachelor of Arts in political science and geography from the University of Wisconsin.
