Residential electricity rates

Price schedule

As of February 23, 2021, customers will resume paying Time-of-Use (TOU) and Tiered prices that were set by the Ontario Energy Board on December 15, 2020.

Non Regulated Price Plan (RPP) customers

As of January 1, 2021, a portion of renewable energy contract costs will be funded by the Ontario government instead of non RPP customers. This will lower electricity bills for customers who do not participate in the Regulated Price Plan or receive the Ontario Electricity Rebate by reducing Global Adjustment (GA) costs.

Non-RPP Class A and Class B customers could see savings of approximately 16 per cent on their bills in relation to the GA costs, before the recovery of the deferred GA amount. Actual savings will vary depending on customers' location and electricity consumption.

Time-of-use

  • Off-peak: 7.4¢/kWh
  • Mid-peak: 10.2¢/kWh
  • On-peak: 15.1¢/kWh

Tiered residential

  • Tier 1: 8.7¢/kWh – for the first 1000 kWh consumed per month from November 1 to April 30 and 600kWh consumed per month from May 1 to October 31.
  • Tier 2: 10.3¢/kWh – for electricity used above the first 1000 kWh consumed per month from November 1 to April 30 and 600kWh from May 1 to October 31.

Line Loss Adjustment: It is normal for a small amount of power to be lost as it travels over our power lines to your home or business. In calculating your electricity costs for the billing period, we multiply your electricity cost by an adjustment factor that accounts for those losses. We do this using an adjustment factor that is approved by the Ontario Energy Board. The charges for losses are included on the Delivery line of your bill.

Energy charge - retailer rates:

If you are enrolled with a retailer you will see an amount for your energy charge based on your energy contact. You will also have a separate line on your bill related to your retailer rate: Global adjustment cost for the month.
