Gateway water district rates

If you live in the Mohave County area served by EPCOR, your water rates fall under the Gateway Water District.

Your water bill depends on your water use and meter size. Rates are reviewed and approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC).

Most residential customers are billed using two parts:

• A basic monthly service charge
• Water usage charges

This charge appears every month, no matter how much water you use. It helps cover system costs such as operations and maintenance.

Other meter sizes have different basic water service charges, which are shown in the official Gateway Water District Tariff. Your meter size affects the monthly charge, but not how your water use is measured.

Water usage is measured in gallons and billed in ranges. As you use more water, the price per 1,000 gallons increases.

Higher usage, often from outdoor watering, moves into higher ranges.

The example below shows what a typical single‑family residential customer in the Gateway Water District pays for water, based on current ACC-approved rates.

This example assumes: 

• Monthly water use: 6,500 gallons
• A 5/8” or 3/4” water meter (typical for most homes)

This example is for illustration only. Actual bills may vary based on usage, meter size and ACC‑approved adjustments shown as separate line items.

The example below shows what a typical single‑family residential customer in the Agua Fria area pays today for water and wastewater service, based on current ACC‑approved rates. 

This example assumes:  

• Average monthly water use: 6,523 gallons 
• A 5/8” or 3/4” water meter (most homes)  
• EPCOR provides both water and wastewater service at the address  

Actual bills may vary based on usage, meter size and service availability. Your bill may also include smaller, regulatory‑approved adjustments or program‑related charges shown as separate line items. 

Wastewater service is billed separately depending on your location.
