EPCOR’s Ontario Commercial Services is hiring a Senior Advisor, Regulatory Applications (FullTime, Permanent) to join our Ontario regulatory group, based in Collingwood.

This is a highvisibility role with direct influence on EPCOR Ontario’s regulatory outcomes, ideal for a senior regulatory professional who wants ownership, exposure, and the opportunity to shape how a growing utility engages regulators.

As a Senior Advisor, Regulatory Applications, you will lead complex Ontario Energy Board (OEB) applications endtoend, work closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, and senior leaders to inform regulatory strategy and outcomes for EPCOR Ontario, and act as a trusted regulatory advisor across Electricity and Natural Gas businesses. Your work will directly inform EPCOR’s regulatory strategy and support longterm business decisions in a dynamic Ontario energy market.

In this role, you’ll be owning key filings, exercising professional judgment, and influencing regulatory outcomes, while building strong relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders. What you’d be responsible for

Reporting to the Associate Director, Regulatory Affairs, this position will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):

 

Regulatory Strategy & Planning

  • Contributing to Ontario regulatory filing plans and directions while ensuring alignment with EPCOR Ontario’s overall strategy
  • Advising on regulatory priorities, positioning, and risk considerations
  • Supporting budget planning for regulatory compliance and special regulatory projects

 

Regulatory Applications & Submissions

  • Leading the preparation of OEB annual, quarterly, and adhoc regulatory filings (QRAM, IRM, CPCN, costofservice, leavetoconstruct applications, and others)
  • Preparing accurate, complete, and defensible regulatory documentation in compliance with all applicable rules and timelines
  • Coordinating submission materials required for OEB consultations and hearings

 

CrossFunctional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Coordinating work across internal groups (Legal, Finance, Gas Supply, Operations, and others) to deliver integrated regulatory outcomes
  • Providing crossfunctional leadership to staff who do not directly report to you, while maintaining strong, positive working relationships
  • Enhancing regulatory processes, templates, and coordination practices with the Associate Director, Regulatory Affairs

 

Compliance, Analysis & Advisory

  • Monitoring OEB, Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), and Ministry of Energy regulatory requirements and policy changes
  • Advising internal stakeholders on regulatory impacts, compliance obligations, and strategic responses
  • Ensuring full compliance with Codes of Conduct and applicable provincial regulations
  • Contributing to the development and execution of annual compliance schedules

What’s required to be successful

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of utility industry experience, combined with handson experience in regulatory, accounting, finance, or engineering roles
  • Strong understanding of Ontario’s electricity and gas utility operations
  • Indepth knowledge of OEB and IESO regulatory frameworks and processes
  • Working knowledge of the Electricity Act, Distribution System Code, Gas Distribution Access Rule, and related government standards
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to interpret data, assess information, and support sound business decisions
  • Proficiency working with data, including numerical analysis, data management, and the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights
  • Experience with data tools and platforms, including Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications, databases, and Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards.
  • Ability to translate technical and operational information into highquality regulatory filings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft persuasive application and defence language
  • Ability to engage effectively with regulators in alignment with OEB rules of practice and procedure
  • An effective team member and attentive to details when working with complex regulatory data and requirements or developing appropriate processes to support business goals.
