John Elford

President & Chief Executive Officer

John Elford became EPCOR President and CEO effective May 3, 2023.

He previously served in three separate Senior Vice President roles, including in EPCOR Water Canada, Corporate Services and Commercial Services, respectively; as well as in the posit​ion of Division Vice President, Operations in Electricity Services.

Since joining EPCOR in 2004, John has held roles focused on distrib​​ution and transmission, regulatory affairs, planning and project delivery, corporate finance, metering and wholesale energy, and asset management.

John is a member of the Board of Directors for the Art Gallery of Alberta and sits on the University of Alberta’s Board Audit and Risk Committee.

He is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters of Business Administration.

Tony Scozzafava​

Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Tony Scozzafava is responsible for corporate finance, treasury, tax, internal audit and risk management functions within EPCOR.

Tony re-joined EPCOR in 2018 from Capital Power Corporation where he served as Vice President of Taxation and Treasury. Tony was part of the core team that led IPO process that led to the successful spin-off of Capital Power from EPCOR in 2009. He also served as CFO for Capital Power Income LP, a publicly traded income fund sponsored by Capital Power.

Prior to Capital Power, Tony spent eight years at EPCOR after time at both Enbridge and KPMG. Tony has extensive experience in the utility industry in areas related to corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, income and sales taxation, and corporate finance.

Tony graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction followed by Chartered Accountant designation.

Tony is an active community member and serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of the Alberta Capital Region.

Shawn Bradford

Senior Vice President, Regulated US Water

Shawn is responsible for EPCOR’s current and growing footprint of regulated water utility operations in the United States – providing water and wastewater services to roughly 400,000 people across 104 counties and 24 communities in Arizona and New Mexico.

Having spent three decades in the water and wastewater industry, Shawn has experience at all levels and across all functional areas of the water utility business, including senior management, operations and maintenance.

Shawn previously served as Senior Vice President of EPCOR Water Canada, and Vice President of Corporate Services for EPCOR USA, where he developed and guided the strategic goals and objectives for EPCOR USA's long-term vision for growth. Additionally, Shawn managed EPCOR USA's natural gas business in Texas, which includes natural gas utility service to residential and commercial custome​rs, and wholesale natural gas transmission services to local distribution utilities.

Prior to joining EPCOR USA, Shawn served as Director of Public Works for the City of Goodyear in Arizona and held previous positions with Aquarion Water and Burgess & Niple.

Shawn holds an MBA with a focus on Strategic Leadership, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Engineering.

Jennifer Addison

Senior Vice President, Sustainability, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Jennifer Addison is SVP Sustainability, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at EPCOR Utilities Inc., based in Edmonton, Alberta. Jennifer oversees the delivery of legal services for EPCOR, as well as compliance, ethics and privacy; public and government affairs; EPCOR's sustainability strategy; and supply chain management. As Corporate Secretary, Jennifer works closely with EPCOR's Board of Directors. She is Chair of the board of Edmonton's Citadel Theatre, and serves on the Alberta Advisory board for the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the Queen's Law Alberta Advisory Council. 

Prior to joining EPCOR, Jennifer held progressively more senior roles in a global engineering and design firm helping to grow the business by acquisition.  ​

Joe Gysel

President, EPCOR USA

Joe Gysel

As President of EPCOR USA Inc., an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EUI), Joe Gysel is responsible for water operations in the United States. EPCOR USA provides water and wastewater services to over 780,000 people in 42 communities and 18 counties across Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

Joe is also responsible for EPCOR USA's growing investment and presence in the southwestern United States. Prior to this assignment, Joe was Senior Vice President, New Business Enterprises with EUI, responsible for EUI water business development across Canada and the U.S. Previous positions with EUI also included senior responsibilities in energy origination and plant development.

Before re-joining EUI in 2000, Joe was Director of Wholesale and Commercial Markets at Encore Energy Solutions L.P., EPCOR's joint venture with Engage Energy, providing transitional consulting services in deregulating markets, including Alberta, Ontario, and California.

Joe has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia with a double major in Marketing and Urban Land Economics. In 2008, he completed the Harvard Advanced Management Program.

Joe serves on the Advisory Board of Arizona State University's Kyl Center for Water Policy at the Morrison Institute and is a member of the external advisory committee of the Water Resources Research Council at the University of Arizona as well as the University of Arizona's Water, Environmental and Energy Solutions External Advisory Board. Joe previously served as President of the National Association of Water Companies, which represents the nation's private water utilities that collectively serve more than 73 million people.  He is currently a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership and the Canada Arizona Business Council. He currently serves as EPCOR's Board representative for the East Valley Partnership in Phoenix.

Frank Mannarino

Senior Vice President, EPCOR Water Services

Frank Mannarino

In his role a​s Senior Vice President, EPCOR Water Services, Frank is responsible for the entire water cycle in the Edmonton region, including ​water treatment, distribution and transmission, wastewater collection and treatment for​ more than one million people.

Prior to his current role, Frank held Senior Vice President positions in EPCOR with Corporate Services, where he oversaw the company’s corporate functions as well as Energy Services billing, collections and customer care services; and with Electricity Operations, where he led EPCOR’s electricity distribution and transmission businesses.

Frank held a number of senior roles in business and operations at Shell Canada, prior to joining EPCOR in 2010.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Alberta. Frank has served as chair of the Board of Directors of the Telus World of Science Edmonton and is currently a Board member of Edmonton Global.

Kirstine Hull

Senior Vice President, Corporate Services

Kirstine Hull

As Senior Vice President of Corporate Services, Kirstine Hull is responsible for providing leadership and governance in the cross-company functions of health, safety, security and environment, human resources and information services.

Kirstine also leads EPCOR's Energy Services business, which provides rate regulated and default supply electricity services to approximately 520,000 residential and small commercial customers in Alberta. In addition, Energy Services provides billing, collection and contact centre services.

EPCOR’s competitive retail business, Encor by EPCOR, also falls under Kirstine’s leadership portfolio. Encor by EPCOR provides electricity and natural gas plans, with floating and fixed rates as well as green energy options to customers across Alberta.

Prior to this position, Kirstine served as Director of Energy Services.

Since joining EPCOR in 1996, Kirstine has held senior management positions in areas across electricity, including asset management, system planning, engineering, project management and field operations.

Kirstine is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is a professional engineer registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

She is also a member of the Edmonton Space & Science Foundation, an alternate warden with Camp 6 - The Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer, and sits on the Don and Norine Lowry Awards for Women of Excellence Committee through the Edmonton Community Foundation.

Amanda Rosychuk

Senior Vice President, Electricity Services

Amanda Rosycuk

Amanda Rosychuk is Senior Vice President of Electricity Services. In leading EPCOR Distribution & Transmission Inc. (EDTI), her team is responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of power to customers in the City of Edmonton, Alberta, along with wholesale energy transmission and sales, retail distribution and metering. Overall, EDTI distributes approximately 13% of the province's energy consumption.

Prior to this position, Amanda served as Senior Vice President of Drainage Services, responsible for Edmonton's stormwater and sanitary drainage networks.

Since joining EPCOR in 1992, Amanda has held senior management positions in areas across the company, including Distribution & Transmission, customer care, business systems, and business development.

Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a graduate of its Executive MBA program and has achieved ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Stephen Stanley

Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives 

Stephen Stanley

Steve Stanley is Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, focusing on large-scale construction projects in the Southern U.S. and supporting growth in industrial water​.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science in Water Resources Engineering, and a PhD in Environmental Engineering —​ all from the University of Alberta. He is also a graduate of the Executive Program at Queen's University.

He is one of Canada's leading experts in water treatment and associated infrastructure. Prior to joining EPCOR, he was a professor at the University of Alberta's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He currently serves on a number of boards, including the Board of Directors of the Alberta Chamber of Resources and the University of Alberta's External Advisory Council for the School of Public Health.​​
