If approved by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB), a typical residential customer in Aylmer would pay about $15 more per year for natural gas service beginning January 1, 2027.
EPCOR has applied to update natural gas distribution rates in our Aylmer service area. The OEB will review the application and decide whether the proposed changes should take effect.
Our application has been assigned OEB proceeding number EB-2026-0148.
If approved by the OEB, a typical residential customer would see an increase of approximately $15 per year, or just over $1 per month.
The OEB allows utilities to apply for annual rate adjustments through an approved rate-setting plan.
The proposed change reflects the costs of operating and maintaining Aylmer's natural gas system and continuing to provide you with safe, reliable service.
The application also includes updates to approved regulatory accounts.
The OEB will hold a public hearing to review our application. This hearing will be written and will include questions from the OEB and input from registered participants (called intervenors).
At the end of the hearing, the OEB will decide whether to approve the rate changes. As an independent public agency, the OEB’s role is to ensure energy services remain reliable, efficient and fairly priced.
