Harmony water rates update

PublishedDecember 05, 2025

In July 2025, we informed you that EPCOR submitted an application to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) for new water rates for 2026–2027. The AUC continues to review this application, and no decision has been made yet.

What’s new?

On December 2, EPCOR filed a request with the AUC for an interim refundable rate adjustment of 5%, effective January 1, 2026. This temporary increase adjustment is necessary to:

  • Prevent rate shock by smoothing the transition toward proposed 10% annual increases for 2026–2027.
  • Address rising operating costs and revenue shortfalls.
  • Ensure continued delivery of safe, reliable water service and compliance with regulatory standards

For a typical single-family home, this would mean an increase of about $3–$4 per month. If approved, this interim adjustment will prevent a larger increase later.

What happens next?

The AUC will continue its review of our full 2026–2027 rate application. Any approved changes will be communicated in advance.
