Fund overview

Are you an Edmonton arts, culture or recreation organization that has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic? Have you experienced a revenue reduction resulting from cancelled or reduced operations? Have you been developing new and modified programming and are looking for funding support to get the initiative off the ground?

If so, you might be eligible to apply for funding from EPCOR's Heart + Soul Fund to help you reshape an initiative or introduce new programming.

EPCOR'S Heart + Soul Fund

EPCOR's new Heart + Soul Fund is intended to provide financial support during the pandemic recovery to help re-energize our arts & culture community and fund new ways to make our everyday lighter and brighter.

The grant is intended to address short-term needs, stimulate longer-term economic benefit, nurture creativity and innovation and help organizations adapt programming so the challenges of today can be overcome through new and innovative ideas.  

EPCOR's Heart + Soul Fund provides a one-time payment to organizations selected and offers three levels of funding.

Levels of funding

  • Small: $5,000

  • Medium: $25,000-$50,000

  • Large: $100,000 - $200,000

Review process

Timely access to funds is important. We will do our best to review and process the applications quickly.

As we have a limited budget, not every application that meets the eligibility criteria will receive funding. Applications that best meet the intent of the program and the core criteria will be funded. Please see the Evaluation section for more details.

Application evaluation and funding decisions will be made by EPCOR staff and cannot be appealed.

Application timelines

Intake for the program will open August 27 and remain open until December 4 or until the funding is exhausted, or whichever happens sooner.

All applications must be submitted through the online application portal.

Once the account has been created, applicants can use their new credentials to log in to the online application portal below. The portal hosts live application forms and templates available for submission.

Step 3. Complete and submit the online application form

Applications must be submitted through the online application portal before December 4, 2020.


After you apply

The program aims to process applications and confirm funding within 10 business days following submission.

After you submit your application, you will receive confirmation of submission from the application system.

You will be contacted if your application is under consideration for funding. Please do not contact EPCOR's community investment team. We will contact you.

A partnership agreement will be negotiated and developed for all successful applications prior to payment being issued. Reporting measurement parameters will be established during this discussion.


​Audit and compliance

All funding awards are subject to a potential audit by EPCOR, upon reasonable notice to the recipient.

If an organization was not able to execute the initiative for which the funds were provided, they must submit a request to reallocate the funds to a new program.

 If the program is not able to be delivered, the organization will return the funding to EPCOR.
