When EPCOR establishes service in a community, we arrange to use public rights of way – roads, sidewalks, etc. – to locate, build, operate and maintain the physical systems we use to serve our customers. Many municipalities use “franchise” contracts for these arrangements. These agreements typically last for years and carry with them the assessment of a franchise fee paid to the city or town.

EPCOR is not required to have franchise agreements in the places we do business. Where we do have them, we renew or extend them periodically so we can continue to deliver uninterrupted, high-quality services to our customers.
