PublishedNovember 15, 2025

Notice of application to be filed for approval to amend franchise fee for City of Edmonton and EPCOR Distribution & Transmission Inc.

Application summary

EPCOR Distribution & Transmission Inc. (“EDTI”) will file an application with the Alberta Utilities Commission, requesting acknowledgement of the new franchise fee rates for the City of Edmonton. There is no change to the previously approved franchise fee percentage.

The average monthly franchise fee for an average residential customer is forecast to increase by approximately $0.39 per month to approximately $8.33 per month in 2026 from $7.94 per month in 2025. An average residential customer uses about 7,200 kilowatt hours per year.

The franchise fee is charged in accordance with the franchise agreement between the City of Edmonton and EDTI, approved by the Commission in Decision 29644-D01-2025.

You may send your objections, concerns about, or support for the application in writing to EDTI on or before November 30, 2025, at:
