EPCOR 2026 rate application in Southern Bruce

PublishedAugust 26, 2025

EPCOR rate application: What it means for you

We’ve submitted an application to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to adjust natural gas rates starting January 1, 2026 for customers in our Southern Bruce service area. If approved, most customers will see moderate changes to their annual bills.

Estimated Annual Bill Impacts

  • Residential customers: An increase of approximately $44.34 per year
  • Small commercial and agricultural customers: Increases range from $41.46 to $43.14 per year depending on usage
  • Medium to large commercial customers: Increases range from $442.70 to $750.73 per year, depending on usage.

Why rates are changing

This proposed adjustment includes:

  • A 2.03% inflationary increase
  • Disposition of several deferral and variance accounts
  • These changes reflect the OEB-approved formula that promotes efficiency and ensures fair pricing.

Your voice matters

The OEB will hold a public hearing to review our application. This hearing may be oral, electronic or written, and will include questions from the OEB and input from registered participants (called intervenors).

At the end of the hearing, the OEB will decide whether to approve the rate changes. As an independent public agency, the OEB ensures energy services remain reliable, efficient and fairly priced.

Get involved

You have the right to be informed and to participate:

  • Review our application
  • Submit a letter with your comments—your feedback will be considered during the hearing
  • Apply to become an intervenor—you’ll be able to ask questions and share your perspective. To participate as an intervenor, apply by September 8, 2025. If you don’t apply by then, the hearing will proceed without further notice to you.

Learn more

  • File number: EB-2025-0178
  • Visit the OEB website and enter the file number to access documents, instructions and updates.
  • Questions? Call the OEB Consumer Relations Centre at 1-877-632-2727.

Hearing format

EPCOR has requested a written hearing, but the OEB is still considering this format. If you believe an oral hearing is more appropriate, you can write to the OEB and explain why before September 8, 2025.
