EPCOR has been working since 2015 to bring natural gas service to the area. In 2016, the Municipality of Kincardine, Township of Huron-Kinloss and the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie selected EPCOR as the preferred provider through a competitive process. Yesterday's OEB ruling awarded EPCOR the project.

EPCOR expects to apply to the OEB for Leave to Construct later this year. Public information sessions will begin soon and will continue over the construction period. EPCOR expects construction to commence in spring 2019 with first customers connecting late in the year, and all customers within the service area having access to natural gas by 2021.
Residents and businesses in the Southern Bruce region have been advocating for natural gas service. Mayors of the three municipalities (Anne Eadie, Mayor of Kincardine; Mitch Twolan, Mayor of Huron-Kinloss; and Paul Eagleson, Mayor of Arran-Elderslie) said they welcome EPCOR to their communities and look forward to natural gas service as soon as possible.
