Are you an Edmonton arts and culture organization, festival or attraction that has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic? Have you experienced a revenue reduction resulting from cancelled or reduced operations? Have you been developing new and modified programming and are looking for funding support to get the initiative off the ground?
EPCOR's Heart + Soul Fund is intended to provide financial support during the pandemic recovery to help re-energize our arts & culture community and fund new ways to make our everyday lighter and brighter.
The grant is intended to address short-term needs, stimulate longer-term economic benefit, nurture creativity and innovation and help organizations adapt programming so the challenges of today can be overcome through new and innovative ideas.
EPCOR's Heart + Soul Fund provides a one-time payment to organizations selected and offers three levels of funding. Sponsorship benefits and recognition will be negotiated upon award.
Due to the volume of requests we receive, we may not be able to fully fund your requested amount, and may contact you to discuss the possibility of a lower funding level.
Funding can be used to:
Create community programming that provides a revenue source for artists or content makers. A minimum of 50% of the funding should directly benefit members of the arts/culture community.
Offset program implementation costs associated with transforming an event or program to a virtual format; safely welcoming audiences back to in-person experiences; or standing up revenue generating initiatives in new ways.
Support a fundraising initiative that benefits the organization in continuing to produce new works and employ artists.
Examples of how the funding could be used include: paying artists to create new works, implementing or maintaining measures to minimize the risk of virus transmission, costs associated with migrating to a virtual delivery system, modifying physical spaces to welcome audiences back in person, etc.
All funding awards are subject to a potential audit by EPCOR, upon reasonable notice to the recipient.
If an organization was not able to execute the initiative for which the funds were provided, they must submit a request to reallocate the funds to a new initiative.
If the initiative is not able to be delivered, the organization will return the funding to EPCOR.
