EPCOR is on the lookout for a Water Operator II or III at our Sandow Water Treatment Plant near Lexington, TX. This role offers an exciting opportunity for skilled professionals to contribute to the vital task of water treatment in a dynamic and 24/7/365, in a rotating shift environment, staffed facility.
What you’ll be responsible for
Operate high level water treatment equipment such as Reverse Osmosis, Ultrafiltration Skids and Cold Lime Softening systems, groundwater wells, remote stations and reservoirs
Perform extensive laboratory analysis
Maintain, calibrate, and verify continuous on-line water quality analyzers
Perform operations, maintenance, and control work on water treatment plant, chlorination equipment, pump control valves, various pressure control valves
Install and make repairs on piping, valves, and other components of water treatment plant
Perform facility, well, and remote site rounds
Analyze data and communicate results effectively
Participate in process control strategies and implementation
Perform construction and fabrication at facility
Maintain landscaping as needed
Operate equipment such as cranes, forklifts, trenchers, backhoes, bucket-lifts and dump trucks as required
What’s required to be successful
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of related experience with field maintenance, water or wastewater plant maintenance, or other mechanical maintenance experience
Experience with mechanical maintenance and repair of pumps, compressors, engines and related equipment at a water or wastewater facility
TCEQ Class A, B, C or D water license required
Knowledge of water systems and associated maintenance necessities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Willingness and ability to increase knowledge in maintenance area operations including equipment operation and use
Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record
