EPCOR Earns Healthy Arizona Worksites Gold Level Award

May 08, 2019

PHOENIX—May 8, 2019—EPCOR USA Inc. (EPCOR) has been recognized by the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program with a Gold Level Award.

The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) makes Arizona healthier by encouraging employers to invest in the health and well-being of their employees and employees' families—and by recognizing those employers for achieving certain milestones. Gold Level recipients have demonstrated a strong commitment to integrating worksite health with business policies and benefits. Gold is the highest-possible recognition EPCOR could have attained.

To be eligible for the Gold Level Award, EPCOR organized a companywide Wellness Committee, completed a comprehensive Worksite Health Score Card and created a Worksite Health Improvement Plan with robust employee benefits geared toward healthy eating, managing stress and physical activity. EPCOR's demonstrated culture of safety also played a role in securing the Gold Level Award.

"EPCOR has always placed a very high value on employee safety and health," said Troy Day, Vice President of Engineering and Commercial Services and Chair of the EPCOR Wellness Committee. "In 2019 we kicked off an annual strategic plan prioritizing specific safety and wellness goals. We're extremely proud to receive the HAWP Gold Level Award because it confirms the work we're doing to make those goals a reality."

EPCOR is among the largest private utilities in the Southwest, providing water, wastewater and natural gas service to approximately 665,000 people across 44 communities and 15 counties in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. With its U.S. corporate headquarter in Phoenix, EPCOR employs 260 people in Arizona.
