​​​Phoenix, Arizona — EPCOR today announced that water will begin flowing t​o the Rio Verde Foothills community on Monday, October 9 at 7 a.m. 

“We're extremely pleased to confirm that a water solution that Rio Verde Foothills homeowners and their families can count on for clean and reliable water service is now in place," said Shawn Bradford, Senior Vice President of Regulated US Water for EPCOR. “EPCOR water will begin flowing to Rio Verde Foothills residents."

While EPCOR is not responsible for providing water service to the community of Rio Verde Foothills, it was asked to step in and partner with the Rio Verde Standpipe District, which was recently formed under Arizona law, to bridge the gap between now and completion of a long-term solution.

“EPCOR and Scottsdale have been great partners," said Meredith DeAngelis, chair of the Rio Verde Foothills Standpipe District. “This is a significant milestone that we have all worked hard to reach, and we are very excited that residents in the Rio Verde Foothills district now have access to reliable water. At 7 am on Monday morning, water haulers will once again be able to draw water from the standpipe owned by the City of Scottsdale."

​Moving EPCOR water resources through the Scottsdale-owned standpipe is a short-term solution until construction of new infrastructure owned by EPCOR is completed. EPCOR's application to proceed with a permanent standpipe is currently under review by the Arizona Corporation Commission. If approved by the ACC, EPCOR anticipates that construction could take up to three years from the point of approval.​​
