More and more businesses are turning to natural gas as an attractive transportation option that reduces fleet costs, lowers emissions and helps them win contracts. Natural gas costs much less than gasoline and is the only fuel that has actually dropped in price over the past decade.
- Compressed natural gas (CNG) is the most common natural gas transportation solution because it is more readily available. CNG is fuelling a broad range of vehicles in heavy-duty, medium and light-vehicle applications and is ideal for vehicles that return-to-base at the end of a workday.
- Liquefied natural gas (LNG) achieves double the energy density of CNG making it better suited for greater fuel consumption applications such as marine, rail, and long haul trucking. With the price of natural gas being so attractive, a number of new Ontario LNG infrastructure projects are currently being planned that will expand its commercial availability.
