The Hughes Gas team is still committed to providing the great service you've been accustomed to and has transitioned to the EPCOR brand.
With a rich 125-year history, EPCOR is a trusted provider of water, power and natural gas utility services to over one million consumers in North America. We're a recognized leader in our commitment and service to our customers and the communities where we work and live. In the United States, EPCOR provides water, wastewater and natural gas services to more than 360,000 people in 37 communities and 15 counties across Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. We're proud to be your new natural gas provider.
Beginning in November, your Hughes natural gas bill will be replaced with an EPCOR natural gas bill, containing the same information you are used to receiving. Your billing account number and service and our phone numbers, office location and employees are not changing.
If you have your bill automatically deducted from your account, you don't need to do anything.
If you pay your bill through your bank, you will need to change the payee name. Delete Hughes Gas and replace it with EPCOR. Please make your checks payable to EPCOR.

Regulated utilities are required to collect local, state and federal taxes as part of the service provided to customers. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was passed into law in December 2017, reducing the corporate tax rate from 35 to 21 percent. However, rates for your service were set in previous years based on a 35 percent tax rate.
In October 2018, the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) approved EPCOR's request to refund nearly $250,000 in tax reform savings to our natural gas customers. Until new rates are adopted by the RRC in a future rate case, rates for natural gas will be lowered to reflect the new lower tax rate beginning with the November 2018 bill. Customers will also receive a one-time credit on the November 2018 bill only, refunding corporate tax credits collected at the higher rate in 2018.
