About the Gold Bar Site
The Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Facility opened in 1956 and remains at the forefront of wastewater treatment technology through continual upgrades and innovations. At the facility, we collect and treat sewage from 900,000 people located within the city of Edmonton. That's more than 200,000 million litres of sewage annually, or enough to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool over 220 times every day.
