EPCOR is no longer planning to construct a transmission line from the Rossdale Substation to the Garneau Substation. Upgrades to the Garneau substation are still required. Landowners, occupants, and residents near the substation will receive additional information regarding these upgrades in early 2016. Those who are not near the Garneau substation will no longer receive updates on this project.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in our consultation process to date. If you have any questions regarding the cancellation of the South Central Edmonton Transmission Reinforcement Project or the planned upgrades at the Garneau substation, please contact us for more information.
We proposed to install a new underground power line from Rossdale substation (9500-104 Street) to Garneau substation (11117-85 Avenue). This new underground power line would help us ensure we reliably meet the demand for power.
For more information on the background of the project please view our project notice. This project notice was distributed summer 2014.
