We're committed to providing our customers with safe and reliable water and wastewater services now and into the future. That means maintaining and investing in infrastructure, including the pipes connected to water treatment plants to ensure they operate at peak efficiency and reliability.

About Luke 303

Luke 303 is our newest wastewater district, named for its proximity to Luke Air Force Base and Arizona State Route 303. Although most of the land in the district is currently undeveloped, planners predict significant regional growth in the next 20 years.

The Luke 303 Water Reclamation Facility has been designed to handle the eventual anticipated wastewater capacity of up to 8 million gallons per day.

Project and timeline

In August 2019, we broke ground on the Luke 303 North Sewer Trunk Main, a major infrastructure investment that will connect the Luke 303 Water Reclamation Facility to new development in the northeastern portion of the district. The new line will run 6.5 miles, and is being installed at an average depth of 22 feet. About 2.5 miles of the line will be located along and just outside the west fence line of Luke Air Force Base.

We are working to install the new sewer main line as quickly as possible, anticipating a completion date of late summer 2020.

Road Closures

The project will involve some road closures.

  • Fall 2019: Near the intersection of Bethany Home Road and Alsup Road, both roads will be closed for less than 1/4 mile.
  • Spring 2020: Northern Avenue from 151 east for approximately 1/3 mile.
  • Summer 2020: Olive Avenue between 151 Avenue and 143 Avenue.

These roads aren't high-traffic areas so we don't anticipate a large impact on local drivers.
