The work creates typical construction noise. We will comply with the City's Community Standards Bylaw for Noise Control.
All construction is within the existing plant's fence line, and all work areas are safe and secure. All construction activities follow City bylaws, occupational health and safety requirements, and EPCOR's health, safety and environmental procedures and standards.
Hours of work for this project are Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. However, occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
In order to build the new facility, and allow for construction access, we have removed a number of trees and shrubs at the facility location. We will retain as much of the existing vegetation as possible, and have identified areas where we will plant new vegetation. In order to respect the ecology of the area, all of the vegetation to be planted will be native to the North Saskatchewan River Valley.
We also work with archaeology and palaeontology experts during any ground disturbance work as directed by Alberta Culture.
The recreational trail located outside the plant's existing fence line will remain open throughout the duration of this work. Flag people will be present on the path whenever construction activities are located close to the fence.
