To support the new Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) overpass at Bell Road and US 60/Grand Avenue, we're relocating underground water and wastewater pipelines. This project will quite literally pave the way for improved transportation and quality of life for the communities of Surprise, Sun City, Sun City West and the greater West Valley.

Background

Project background

Existing water and wastewater pipelines, which date back to the late 1990s, are located in the same area as ADOT's project to improve traffic flow and safety along Bell Road at the US 60/Grand Avenue interchange. As part of the project, utilities need to relocate the pipes that are underneath the existing road. When we relocate the water and wastewater lines, it will put new pipes in the ground.

Cost and timeline

When is this happening and how much will it cost?

Relocating the water and wastewater lines will cost about $155,000 and will be completed during the construction of the overpass, which ADOT expects to complete by November 2016.
