Purpose
The water community advisory panel (CAP) brings together groups of people, representing a variety of viewpoints within a community, for the purpose of sharing information around a common interest in drinking water. The volunteers usually meet quarterly and sit on the panel for a two year term.
The CAP serves as a forum for EPCOR to share information and receive stakeholder input on emerging issues, including:
Water efficiency,
Legislative and technological changes,
Pricing,
Customer care, and
Ground water issues, etc.
In this way, companies like EPCOR can hear first-hand from a wide variety of representative voices in a community.
History
Edmonton's panel was originally established in 1993 to provide input to water efficiency issues, and in 1997, its role was expanded to include a wider range of water-related issues.
