Albian Muskeg River Mine
Poor raw water quality with high peak demand periods created a challenge for water treatment at the Albian mine. EPCOR Water Services now operates and maintains the system, and has resolved many of the mine's operating difficulties. This was accomplished with qualified trained EPCOR staff ensuring that the wastewater plant runs more efficiently and effectively. EPCOR also manages environmental and regulatory reporting requirements, leaving Albian staff to focus on their core business.
Suncor Steepbank Mine
The wastewater treatment plant at Suncor's Steepbank mine has extreme fluctuations in flows and loads. EPCOR solved the problem by using existing infrastructure to create a more consistent flow through the plant. This solution allows EPCOR to more than double plant capacity and produce high quality effluent meeting environmental standards, with a design guaranteed to meet Suncor's future needs. EPCOR also manages environmental and regulatory matters surrounding water and wastewater.
