Power Generation Assets & Development
EPCOR develops, constructs, owns and operates power generation facilities in Canada and the United States.
EPCOR is responsible for operating power generation facilities with a gross capacity of more than 3,400 MW. Electricity is generated from conventional and renewable sources such as small hydro, biomass, wind and landfill gas.
EPCOR's power generation operations in Alberta communities:
Distribution & Transmission
EPCOR owns and operates about 9% of Alberta's transmission grid, distributing close to 14% of its electricity consumption. This includes 285 distribution feeders, 4,746 circuit km of primary distribution lines, and services and facilities for more than 300,000 customers concentrated in the City of Edmonton.
Energy Services
EPCOR provides regulated rate electricity service to more than 600,000 residential, farm and small commercial business customers in the City of Edmonton, Town of Ponoka, and other rural Alberta communities. We also provide call centre and billing services, and offer these to third-party competitive retailers and other utilities.
Water
EPCOR designs, builds, operates and finances water and wastewater facilities, working in partnership with governments, municipalities, and industrial clients. Active in Alberta and British Columbia, we provide water and wastewater services to about one million people in more than 50 communities.
