August 15, 2008 - Edmonton - A three-year initiative to design and engineer Canada’s first near-zero emission thermal power plant reached a milestone today when EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EPCOR) selected Siemens Fuel Gasification Technology GmbH & Co. KG (Siemens) as the technology provider for the design of a coal gasification facility.

EPCOR Utilities Inc. completes C$25 million debt offering
April 28, 2008 - Edmonton, Alberta - EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EPCOR) has completed an offering in Canada of unsecured medium term note debentures in the aggregate principal amount of C$25 million, issued through a reopening of the April 15, 2008 issue with a coupon rate of 6.65% maturing on April 15, 2038. This brings the total principal for the issue to $200 million. The net proceeds of the offering will be used to fund a portion of the 2008 proposed capital program and for general corporate purposes, including short-term investment.

EPCOR Williams Lake Energy Plant putting BC’s Bioenergy potential into action for past 15 years
April 25, 2008 - Williams Lake, BC - The Williams Lake Energy Plant, currently operated by EPCOR, on behalf of EPCOR Power LP (TSX: EP.UN), is one of the largest bioenergy facilities in North America. EPCOR Utilities Inc. completes C$375 million debt offering
April 15, 2008 - Edmonton, Alberta - EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EPCOR) has completed a public offering in Canada of unsecured medium term note debentures in the aggregate principal amount of C$375 million in two issues. C$200 million was issued through a reopening of the January 31, 2008 issue with a coupon rate of 5.80% and maturing on January 31, 2018. C$175 million was issued with a coupon of 6.65% maturing on April 15, 2038. The net proceeds of the offering will be used to repay EPCOR’s commercial paper indebtedness, to fund the maturity of a June 2008 debenture, fund a portion of the 2008 proposed capital program and for general corporate purposes, including short-term investment.

EPCOR initiates environmental assessment process for a new wind power project in British Columbia
February 11, 2008 - Richmond, B.C. - EPCOR Utilities Inc. (“EPCOR”), through its indirect wholly owned subsidiary EPCOR Power Development (British Columbia) Limited Partnership, has initiated an environmental assessment process for the Quality Wind Project (“QWP”). This 100 to 200 megawatt (“MW”) wind energy project is proposed for an area approximately ten kilometres northeast of Tumbler Ridge.

EPCOR recognized for emission reductions
February 4, 2008 - Edmonton, Alberta - The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized 13 U.S. power plants operated by EPCOR Utilities Inc.’s American division EPCOR USA for environmental efficiency. The EPA’s Combined Heat and Power Partnership issued a Greenhouse Gas Reduction Report for 2007 to EPCOR USA recognizing its lower-emission operations.
