EPCOR to invest $245 million in new Alberta power generation December 15, 2006 - Edmonton - Earlier today the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (EUB) released a decision approving EPCOR's proposal to construct three natural-gas fired peaking power units at the site of the Clover Bar Generating Station in northeast Edmonton.
EPCOR and Government of B.C. share Public Private Partnership award for Britannia Mine Water Treatment Plant November 21, 2006 - Edmonton - The Canadian Council for Public Private Partnerships is recognizing EPCOR and the Government of British Columbia for an innovative partnership that is ending a century of heavy metal pollution in B.C.'s Howe Sound. The Council presented the partners with the Gold Award for Infrastructure for the Britannia Mine Water Treatment facility. Located on B.C.'s Sea-to-Sky Highway, this water treatment plant is now capturing and removing thousands of tonnes of heavy metal contaminants from the historic Britannia Mine, including 166,000 kilograms of copper per year - the equivalent of 70 million pennies.
EPCOR Preferred Equity Inc. announces results November 03, 2006 - Edmonton - EPCOR Preferred Equity Inc. (TSX: EPE.PR.A), a subsidiary of EPCOR Utilities Inc., reported net income of $3.1 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 and $9.3 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2006. EPCOR Preferred Equity Inc. also declared a dividend on preferred shares of $0.34375 per share to be paid on December 29, 2006 to the holders of its Cumulative Redeemable First Preferred Shares, Series I. The record date for the dividend is December 18, 2006.

Water consumption was 16 million litres lower than normal yesterday, with consumption of 344 million litres, down from an average daily consumption of approximately 360 million litres.

Smith Water Treatment facility in order to meet Edmonton's growing need for water. The next stage of this work requires that EPCOR temporarily suspend operations at the E.L. Smith Plant, leaving the Rossdale Water Treatment Facility to handle water demands.

Electricity service restored in Edmonton; Albertans asked to continue to conserve power July 24, 2006 - Edmonton - Shortly after 4:30 pm EPCOR responded to a directive from the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) to curtail electricity consumption in Edmonton as part of a province-wide effort to reduce electricity demand. The measure was required to ensure electricity system stability after the British Columbia transmission connection went off line.

June 5, 2006 - Edmonton/Britannia Beach - EPCOR and the Government of British Columbia have opened the Britannia Mine Water Treatment Facility, which is ending contamination from one of North America's largest sources of heavy metal pollution. The new facility will prevent thousands of tonnes of heavy metal contaminants from entering the ocean environment of Howe Sound, including 166,000 kilograms of copper per year - the equivalent of 70 million pennies. Located on B.C.'s Sea-to-Sky highway, 55 kilometres north of Vancouver, the treatment facility was completed on-time and on-budget.

EPCOR sells interest in Frederickson Power April 7, 2006 - Edmonton - EPCOR Utilities Inc. (collectively with its subsidiaries, "EPCOR") today announced that it has agreed to sell to EPCOR Power L.P. and its wholly owned subsidiaries (the "Partnership") a 100% interest in Frederickson Power L.P. ("FPLP") for an aggregate purchase price of U.S. $118.0 million.
